How old a Dragon can become plays absolutely no role, when that Dragon thinks from its birth on, that your are its father/mother, once it sees you first after birth.
in this relation are Dragons not anyhow different, than any other living creature. Intelligence is no thing, that is fully developed instantly after birth, even for Dragons NOT. A fresh born Dragon is as intelligent, as a fresh born human child !! Intelligences comes first with Life Experience !!

Umm.. okay, I was under the impression that Glint was 3000 years old, as per her article on Guild Wiki. And also, as per the Movement of the World article, she was rather young by Tyrian Dragon standards given the quote that "Glint and Kuunavang were but Youths." Given that, she would be at least half the age of the other dragons, like Primordious, since otherwise she would not be a youth by applicable comparison.
But, whatever, if the lore you plucked from the ether that has nothing to do with Tyria says otherwise, we'll go with that.

Although I'm sure it won't be implemented, as others have said this requires quite a bit of coding which ANet Doesn't have time for with GW2 on their plate, I would love to see this and if not in GW1 then GW2. It could spawn at the end of Glint's Challenge or after you defeat Glint in the Dragon's Lair.
Interesting idea

No. Maybe GW2, but not if they can breathe fire.

Glint is 3000 years, I have seen books and games tell of Dragons living for much more then a millennium. One series I recall is The Dragon Nimbus, which had a dragon who was at the end of it's lifespan (also note, it lived for longer then any other dragon of it's time) at 7000 years. Of course, one source isn't very reliable when it comes to fantasy, but my point is they can live past 1000 years. I would say the average life span of a Dragon is more like 1000 years to 5000 years, when dying of age that is.
And as for coming back to the topic. shoyon456 is right that it would mess up the lore of the game, and the lore of the game is what should be looked at 99% of the time, because when the lore (the entire background of the game basically) is messed up, nothing will make sense on what quests and storylines mean.
Would be lovely to have, but won't happen. But it can be possible for one of Glint's babies to "allow" us to ride them for transportation/fighting and whatnot, that is, if she doesn't betray us for her own kind. (And yes, Dragons allow humans to ride them, they cannot truly be tamed, in all Dragon-related sources, which removes the idea of a pet).
So I can see a "Baby" Dragon being a mount/ally in GW2, but never a pet, and not in GW1.

ok, you can't naturally compare the Age of Dragons from culture with the age of Dragons from games/movies/books, which are all based just on fantasy
in games/movies are dragons naturally often alot older, then mythological dragons from asian cultures or so, because it sounds simple more awesome, when something is like 10000 years old, as when its only just only 1000.
Thats why for example the millenium, the year 2000 WAS a Year of the Dragon!!
All 1000 Years is a Year of the Dragon.
In the Year 3000 (lol if we will see this day coming XD someday), it would be theoretically again a Year of the Dragon. This Year of the Dragon is every 12 Years, last was like as I said from 2000 to 2001.

I don't mean to mock anyone's beliefs or anything, but all of you who are arguing about the lifespan of dragons.... You do know that dragons aren't actual creatures, right? They're all based on fantasy and myth.
As for baby dragons as pets, I guess that'd be pretty cool. You know what'd be badass though? If you could cap a dragon in GW1 AS A BABY, and IF you add it to your HoM, you could have it as a mount in GW2. I dare you to tell me that wouldn't be awesome.

Are they now? Then how do you explain that they are described in different cultures all over the world as long ago as 2000 BC, long before people started traveling across the oceans? Hell, even long before the "net" was invented.
